With a magnetic stage presence, soulful vocals aged beyond her twenty years, and a catchy pop rock sound that takes influence from artists like Alanis Morisette and The Arctic Monkeys, Madden Novogratz's music is so electrifying, you wouldn't realize it centers around anxiety (until closer lyrical inspection).
Though her music is fun and high-energy, her raw lyrics about mental health, self discovery, and ambition narrate vulnerable experiences we can all relate to.
Coming from a background in visual art, Novogratz brings a uniquely DIY mentality to her music—designing her own album covers and posters, painting her own clothing, carving and printing her own merch as well as filming her own music videos (and designing this here website). In heels and a suit painted with blue swirls, she empowers young people to express themselves creatively.
Madden Novogratz is making waves in the NYC indie-rock scene. Though most of her current, rock centered music is unreleased, fret not. You can catch her playing it monthly at venues around NYC while she finishes up her first EP.
